DIY: Suede Feather Hair Clips

Since summer arrived, I’ve been wearing my hair up almost every day. I don’t consider myself that great at hair-styling, so sometimes I depend on a pretty hair clip to change the same hairstyle I’ve worn for three days into something a little cuter. I have discovered that Forever21 has great hair stuff on the

Another DIY! Dishwasher Magnet

I absolutely hate doing dishes. Especially with my newly scorched fingers I had after I made the wreaths in the last post. (Glue guns… oh, how they burn.) My family tends not to put their dishes in the dishwasher. The sink piles up, and their only excuse is,  “I didn’t know if it was clean or dirty!” Well. I KNOW they can all read, so hopefully, this will fix the problem. 😉

(Pardon the ugly dishwasher!)

All you need to make one of these is some chalkboard paint, a paintbrush, one of those business card size magnets that you get every time you order pizza… (or two if it’s not very strong) a little bit of hot glue, and a wooden plaque. This one was around $1 at Michaels, and I already had everything else.

I also picked up a few more of these little plaques… I’m thinking three laundry baskets in the kids’ bathroom, and wall plaques above them labeled “whites” “colors” and “towels.” Pics when it’s finished! 🙂

DIY – Ribbon Wreath

Hi Everyone!

I’ve got a couple of DIY’s to share this week. I’ve been working hard trying to get this new house to feel like home. I found this tutorial on Pinterest, and decided to try it in a fall/halloween version.

And here’s my version!

I had fun making these, though all those knots got to be a little much. I bought 6 rolls of 1″ grosgrain ribbon, and ended up having to spread my knots a little so I’d have enough to finish. I used a wire frame wreath instead of a foam one, and I started by wrapping the wreath with some 1.5″ ribbon in the same color. I really like how they turned out, and I think they add just a touch of fall to my new house! 🙂

We’re back! + DIY of the week.

Well the honeymoon – at least the vacation part – is over. I am back, recharged and ready to take on the world. Again. As a married chick. Ha! The wedding turned out great, if a little scatterbrained… and the trip, wow. I visited some of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. We wandered

DIYOTW – Coffee Filter Lamp Shade

Weekly DIY This tutorial creates the prettiest end result, for practically nothing. I recently bought a few hundred coffee filters for just a couple of bucks! You can get them in a natural brown color too. How pretty would this be on tiny lamp shades on a chandelier? I can’t wait to try this! Click
