*whew* It’s Over.

Christmas has come and gone, the tree is losing pine needles all over my carpet, and I’ve FINALLY finished all the dishes and cleanup from everything that was cooked in my kitchen over the weekend. (What. A. Mess.) I planned on posting a lot more gift ideas and DIY’s last week, but… I believe you could say that our week was a bit of a whirlwind. And parts of the whirlwind were really great. How was your holiday?

I have to say, I’m glad to have the opportunity to start a brand new, fresh year. This year has been so busy, I know the first year of marriage always is, but sheesh. My main goal this year is to focus less on trivial things, and more on the things that really matter, and to work on making sure I don’t lose ‘myself’ in all the mess that is my family life. I want to learn to let things roll off my back, instead of worrying, or dwelling on the problems… and just being happy and thankful for all the good things in life. There are so many good things that we let slip by without notice, I hope to notice a lot more of them this year.

My resolutions list is already very long, and this year I’m trying a ‘complete/reward’ system. I scratch something off the list, I get a treat. Even if it means blowing my weight watchers budget for the day… (which is another item on the list…) I do something big and I want a cupcake? I’m getting a cupcake, darn it. 🙂

One of my other goals for the year is to better plan my blog posts and structure, and write much, much more. Maybe I’ll start blogging from the beach… that would definitely be motivation to write. Plus I’d get a killer tan!

I’ll share more about my goals for next year soon, but for now… I hope everyone has a safe, and super fun New Year’s Eve, and I’ll be back to regularly scheduled blogging next week.
